New Dementia Wellbeing Service
A new Dementia Wellbeing Service to support the estimated 4,500 people living with the condition in Bristol launches from Monday 8 June.
It is backed by a new advertising campaign Be Dementia Aware calling on people to talk to their GP if they are concerned that they – or someone they care about – may be showing signs of dementia.

The new Be Dementia Aware advertising campaign, running in Bristol and South Gloucestershire over the next three weeks, aims to increase diagnosis rates in the region.
Regional radio, newspaper, online and bus-back advertisements and a new digital animation available will encourage people to talk to GPs if they have any concerns relating to memory loss, confusion or changes in mood.
People in Bristol have been clear in terms of what they would like to see from dementia support service – they want help and support to do what they want for as long as they possibly can and as independently as they possibly can. That’s exactly what Bristol’s new Dementia Wellbeing Service has been set up to do.
The earlier a dementia diagnosis is made, the earlier the right treatment and support can be put in place to help someone live well and prepare for the future.

The service includes one to one support local to where someone lives, allowing people to build a long term relationship with professionals, and a continued programme of care underpinned by a unique, personalised Wellbeing plan.
