Who we are

NHS Bristol Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is the organisation responsible for commissioning hospital and community health services to ensure that the health needs of Bristol’s population of over 432,500 people are met.

We’re a membership organisation, made up of 48 GP practices, led by doctors, nurses and other health professionals who have first-hand experience of treating patients.

Our people

Our clinical experience means we’re well placed to design and select the services that best meet local needs, but to achieve this we work closely with other organisations.

These organisations include Bristol City Council, NHS England, the patient watchdog Healthwatch and a wide range of voluntary and community groups. We also have close working partnerships with service providers, such as our local hospital trusts.

A vibrant city

Bristol is a vibrant city with a rapidly growing and relatively young population, from a wide range of social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

This is what makes Bristol such a great place to live, and our challenge is to tackle the health inequalities that nevertheless exist, and to improve the health and wellbeing of everyone who lives here.

We have great ambitions for the city. Our vision is to work with other organisations, such as the local authority and the voluntary sector, so that we can really make a difference, enabling Bristol people to lead healthy lives and access excellent health services.

We’re committed to involving patients and the public in our decision-making, so please get involved by sharing your experiences and views on healthcare in the city.
